How We See
When you look at something, light reflected off that object enters the eye. Your eye then refracts, or bends, the light when it passes through the cornea, and again when it passes through the pupil and into the lens. The light is then focused on the retina at the back of the inside of the eye. Most vision problems are caused by irregularities in the cornea that interfere with the ability to properly focus light. LASIK is a process of reshaping your cornea using a highly accurate computer-guided laser.
The iLASIK Procedure
To reach the cornea, Dr. Goel will create a tiny flap in the surface of your cornea using a special laser. No blades are used in any of Dr. Goel's laser eye surgery procedures. The laser creates microscopic bubbles just under the surface of your cornea. Once the bubbles have formed, Dr. Goel can gently lift the flap where the tissue has separated. This method creates a much smoother surface underneath the corneal flap, and because Dr. Goel can customize the shape and depth of the corneal flap, IntraLase is also more precise than bladed LASIK. Additionally, this method significantly reduces the risk of complications.
Once Dr. Goel completes the procedure, he will close the flap, which then works as a natural bandage. You can expect a significant improvement in your vision within 24 hours, and your eye will be completely heal within approximately three months.
Benefits of iLASIK
iLasik uses state-of-the-art technology to provide greater accuracy and help patients enjoy even more benefits. The surgical lasers use sophisticated eye tracking technology that follows mapping of the iris to keep the lasers precisely aligned with your eye, even if you move! In addition, computer programs gather specific information about your eye and use these details to guide the lasers with customized precision. Always on the cutting edge of technology, Dr. Goel uses the FS60 to perform all iLasik procedures.
Cost of iLASIK
